Friend feature

The SafeDistance Badge tracker has a unique feature that allows you to add up to 6 'friends' in your personal bubble without the alarm going off all the time. This is handy in particular for teams that are working closely together and equipped with safety gear like face masks, etc. 

The friend relationship is persistent across rebooting of the badges.

Add friends

If the badge wants to make friends, please do the following steps:

1. power on the badge
2. long-press the button for 1s to 3s
3. release the button

Now, the red LED and green LED will blink for 10s, which indicates that the badge has entered the Friend process.
In these 10s, if you do nothing, nothing will happen, the red LED and green LED will stop flashing after 10s and the badge will resume normal operation. If you long-press button more than 3s, the badge will be powered off as usual.

To add up to 6 friends to your personal "bubble", perform the previous 3 steps, than continue with;

        4. click the button once when the red LED and green LED are flashing

        5. do the same for all other badges in the same "friend group"

        6. bring all friend badges close to each other in a 0.5meter (2feet) circle

        7. the green LED will flash for 30 seconds while it accepts all new friend badges

        8. after 30 seconds, the red LED starts flashing if there are any friend badges detected within the safe distance.

If you click the button once, the red LED flashes once. This means the badge has friend badges. If the green LED flashes once it means the badge did not have any friend badges detected.

Repeat the procedure above to add more friends.

Remove friends

To remove all friend badges, perform the following steps:

1. power on the badge
2. long-press the button for 1s to 3s
3. release the button
4. double-press the button within 1 second
5. the red LED will briefly blink to indicate the friend badges have been removed.

Make sure to perform the procedure on all friend badges.
