It is entirely possible to configure your CloudGate to allow remote access only from a specific, trusted IP address. To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Disable Default Remote Access
Go to the System tab.
Disable “Remote access via HTTPS.”
This prevents general remote access and ensures only explicitly allowed connections are permitted.
2. Add an Inbound Port Forwarding Rule
Set up a port forwarding rule with the following parameters:
Source IP: The public IP address of the PC or network you will use to access the CloudGate remotely.
Destination Port: The external port through which you want to access the CloudGate.
Target IP: The internal LAN IP address of the CloudGate interface.
(Default:192.168.1.1
for the main Ethernet interface.)Target Port: The specific port of the service you want to access on the CloudGate:
Use port 80 for HTTP access.
Use port 443 for HTTPS access.
