Remotely Accessing a CloudGate from a Trusted IP Address

Modified on Fri, 20 Jun at 10:59 AM

It is entirely possible to configure your CloudGate to allow remote access only from a specific, trusted IP address. To do this, follow the steps below:

1. Disable Default Remote Access

  • Go to the System tab.

  • Disable “Remote access via HTTPS.”

This prevents general remote access and ensures only explicitly allowed connections are permitted.

2. Add an Inbound Port Forwarding Rule

Set up a port forwarding rule with the following parameters:

  • Source IP: The public IP address of the PC or network you will use to access the CloudGate remotely.

  • Destination Port: The external port through which you want to access the CloudGate.

  • Target IP: The internal LAN IP address of the CloudGate interface.
(Default: 192.168.1.1 for the main Ethernet interface.)

  • Target Port: The specific port of the service you want to access on the CloudGate:

    • Use port 80 for HTTP access.

    • Use port 443 for HTTPS access.
